CAR RESTORATION
There is a big difference between a
car restoration done only for the "Look"
and one to have the car run well. An advantage
that a restoration can bring is that the
chassis can be adjusted. Also, the doors
work and seal better, the head beam adjusts
for a better night vision because adjustments
are new and workable and the windshield
is clear if it has been changed etc...
A car restoration in a shop could cost
a customer from $50,000 to $75,000 US
funds including the new factory paint,
transmission, engine, cleaning and paint
drive train, suspension parts, front seat
cover match and new carpets. I forgot
the new tires and a fresh wheel alignment.
This would be great if the owner had the
serial number match plate and if he had
the original sales sheet.
Things don't always go as planned! We
have to confess that often it's not so
important if a Dodge 340 has a purple
paint spot on the camshaft and has the
same torsion bar dimension installed on
the front suspension since 1968. This
doesn't mean that this car will run very
well at any speed! And if this car doesn't
run well, then is shouldn't be called
a "Muscle Car".
We frequently suggest that they adjust
and replace certain parts with more appropriate
ones of our time. The first question a
specialist should ask his client is; "What
is it you want to do with your car?"
Also, we are open to ideas and if you
don't want to invest all your energy and
budget on the look of the body and the
chrome on the bumpers and trim, it is
possible to borrow modern technology off
of a 60s or 70s car.
It's very important to structure and
plan a project with the customer from
the beginning to avoid useless loss of
time and money.
We build race car chassis and it's easy
for us to work with or fix a factory frame
or monocoque unit to improve it's stiffness.
All materials and products used are chosen
with care and interest. For finishing,
we only use PPG finishing products.
Tell us what you want and we will build
you a car that looks beautiful and runs
marvelously.
